On Day 5 we visited the famous Catacombs of Rome. These underground burial places have existed for centuries with some discovered only in the last 20 years. The dark underground tunnels and tombs made a perfect film set for the Indiana Jones movie.
Pizza making proved a popular activity with some showing a certain culinary skill and expertise. We settled down to a feast of home made Italian pizza, music and dance.
Our students were able to let their hair down enjoying the traditional folk dancing of the Tarantella. The dance originated in Southern Italy and was traditionally performed at weddings. Tradition says its unlucky to dance alone and our students were happy to oblige.
