– Homework –

During the first term, children will receive 3 reading books each week (2 English books and 1 Spanish book). Please read this book with you child at home daily or when you have the opportunity. If you would like guidance on how to read effectively with your child, please ask your child´s class teacher.  Your child will also receive weekly spellings.  The children have a test each week in class.  We use the “read, cover, write, check” method. Please encourage your child to practice these spellings daily on the sheet provided.
In addition to reading and spellings, after Christmas, children will receive a small amount of English and Maths homework based on what they are learning in class. This should not take longer than 15 minutes for each piece of homework. This will also help you to follow your child´s learning and identify any difficulties they are having.  Occasionally, the children are sent small tasks to do at home which links to the learning that is taking place in class.

– Workshops–

Dear Parents,

Further to feedback from KS1 parents after our workshops we are delighted to be able to put information; presentations and a Maths dictionary, on our website to help you to help your child at home.

I hope that these are interesting and helpful to you and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the teachers.

Kind regards,

Miss Ali
