Over the last 29 years Oakley College has developed from a small nursery school to the award winning and established British International school, that it is today. The learning focus has always been at the heart of the school and over the years it has been reinforced by the continued development and improvements in facilities and buildings.
Vegueta; where we accommodated our 3 to 5 year olds. Los Hoyos; saw the development of the Primary and Secondary departments where we catered for, 3 to 14 year olds. Presently in the two sites of calle Zuloaga and calle San Quintin; where we have been able to house all our students from 2 to 18.
Our next step is to continue to develop our sites and to maximise the learning potential of our students. To do this we will:
1. Maintain and enrich the San Quintín site for our Early Years (2 to 4 year olds).
2. Create a new, purpose built Primary school accommodating the 12 classes from Year 1 to Year 6. The build will be on our present sports ground and will include a multi-use, covered hall area and an independent kitchen and dining room. The Primary department will be fully contained with their own playgrounds and sports area on site.
3. Dedicate our Zuloaga site exclusively for the Secondary department, developing the building, grounds and facilities to tailor to the needs of the department.
4. Develop a new Oakley College Park on 5000m2 of land adjacent to the Zuloaga building which will complement the natural surroundings of the beautiful Tafira area. We will create a multiple focused area where artificial grass areas will sit beside trees, local plants and fauna. We plan to develop an allotment (growing area-huerto) where students can grow their own vegetables and be more in touch with nature.
Collectively, we look forward with anticipation to the next stage of growth, developing our confident learning community.
