Year 5 – Osorio trip

On the 18th February, Year 5 took part in an excursion to Osorio, where they were able to see and learn about the growing process and reforestation of the Laurisilva forest, one of the world’s unique natural gems. Our little tree-planters learned how to use a hoe and planted several tree-heathers in an area where, two years previously, fellow Oakley students had planted various shrubs which continue to grow today. In addition to planting trees, students enjoyed a nature walk and were able to see some animals living on the farm. An interesting and fun day was had by all!
