Sport and physical education is fundamental to the early development of children. The skills learned during play, physical education and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people.
Through participation in sport and physical education, young people learn about the importance of key values such as:
• Fair play
• Concentration and dedication
• Respect for themselves and others, and adherence to rules.
We firmly agree with these sporting principles in Oakley and sport is a vital part of the learning and development of our Oakley students. Our facilities support this belief with ample opportunities to enjoy sport with a fully dedicated sports ground adjacent to our academic building.
We have teams competing against other schools in football, basketball, athletics and volleyball as well as after-school activities across a range of sports.
