|2. HEALTH AND SAFETY|

The Board of Directors have stated that the single most important aspect of the return to school is the Health and Safety of all our staff. To this end we have created a Covid-19 H+S Committee to advise us on our protocols so we can return to school in a safe and secure manner.

Uniform Policy update 2020/21 course
Due to current Covid conditions we have reviewed the uniform policy for this year and amended it to the following;
From November, for students from Y3 to Y11 during the current pandemic in order to facilitate frequent clothes washing, those who wish to continue to use the P.E. uniform may do so for this academic year only. The winter uniform may also be worn as normal for those who wish to do so. The uniform policy will return to the normal published version from the academic year 2021/22.

|3. LIMITING CONTACT PROTOCOL|
Primary classes arranged in class bubbles and secondary arranged in year group bubbles.
Separate toilets for each year group bubble.
Separate playground area for each class/year group bubble.
Dining room arrangements in primary is class group eat in bubbles.
In secondary students eat with 1.5m distance between each person and year groups at the same time.
SECONDARY HOME ROOMS:
In secondary the students will remain in a “home” classroom not moving during the day. The specialist teachers will move between rooms.
ONE WAY SYSTEMS:
All school movements are in a one-way system and no two year groups will come into contact with each other.
Library-social spacing of 1.5m between students.

Masks worn by all school community, except under 6’s. No protective gloves are required.

Gel at every entry point. Handwashing at each play time and lunchtime. Additional outdoor hand basins have been provided.

|4. CASE MANAGEMENT PROTOCOLS|

|5. REORGANISING SCHOOL|
|5a. Staffing Plan: |
Find out which members of staff are able to work and produce a staffing plan going forward.
Develop a critical staffing list identifying the minimum staffing required for a group of students/class for it to operate and the cutoff point when the class cannot continue in school (having to move to online learning).

Plan which rooms will be open, including kitchens, staff areas, access to drinking water and pupil/staff/visitor toilet facilities. Bins in each room emptied twice a day minimum.

• When a student or class is in quarantine for up to 14 days (and online teaching is in place) the school fees will be charged as normal. Lunch conditions as per the present policy.
• When a student or class is in quarantine for 15 days or more discounts will be activated.

|6a. On-line learning:|
System set up and ready for implementation if needed.

Hybrid teaching and learning –What is it?|
We have developed the online teaching and learning model which began back in March this year and now are using a “hybrid model” where the majority of students are in the classroom but some can be at home attending the class via live-video technology using Google Meet. Students who are attending from home have the same access to the classroom as every student attending in person.
Hybrid learning -who it’s for:
• Hybrid learning is specifically for children who are not able to attend school; are feeling well enough to learn, either awaiting a PCR test, in quarantine, or for another medical reason, they are required to stay at home for a certain period.
Hybrid learning-when is it not available:
• Students at home sick and unable to attend school are by definition too ill to be learning and are not eligible for hybrid learning. They need to recover from their illness and return to school for face to face learning.
• Homework is published on google classroom and can be accessed from there.
Hybrid learning-how children access it:
• First step is for the parent to contact the school office and advise of their child’s absence and if they are medically fit for hybrid learning. Those undergoing a PCR, in quarantine or with a long term sickness eg broken leg or other condition, are eligible for hybrid teaching.
• Second step is the Principal will approve students who are eligible and activate the hybrid teaching in the class.
Hybrid teaching will begin the day after being approved.
Primary children can access hybrid learning from google classroom, following the instructions detailed on this link.
Secondary students will get an invite to each class from their teacher via Google Meet.
Returning to school after extended absence:
• Parents need to obtain approval from the Principal to return to school after extended absence, when hybrid teaching has been activated. After receiving a negative PCR result, completing quarantine or having recovered from a long term illness, Mr Donat needs to be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org during working hours (when possible). This is to confirm there are no risks for the rest of the class/staff on the students return and to deactivate hybrid teaching. Only after return approval has been received by the parent, can the child return to school the following day.

Coronavirus: resources to support the return to school
Mental Health Awareness Day – Hello Yellow
Our role as educators is to prepare our children for life in the real world. This year more than ever, we are aware and focusing our efforts and work towards supporting our children and community to deal with the ever changing world.
The 9th October is World Mental Health day. We would like to celebrate this day by participating in the Hello Yellow initiative to raise awareness of Mental Health. Help us spread the word that, together, we can look out for each other and feel hopeful about the future, by wearing something yellow to school on the 9th October.
The children will also be participating in specific activities this day around raising mental health awareness.
AFESur asociación salud mental is a local charity and those who wish may bring 1€ to their class teacher /tutor, which will be donated to the charity.
Whether it’s a scarf, hat, or your favourite bow tie, dig out your best yellow clothes and wear them with pride on 9 October for World Mental Health Day.

This year due to Covid restrictions we will not be celebrating our whole school Halloween event. There will be an opportunity for students to come to school on the Halloween day in fancy dress and collect for our local children’s cancer charity. Primary department will have specific events and celebrations in their class groups. More details to follow.
Normally at this time of year the children have their individual and class photos taken. This will be postponed until later on in the year.
