Learning in Owls

The Owls have been learning about colours and shapes.  The children have developed their mathematical skills by constructing and arranging shapes in different ways, sequencing and making patterns with cubes and exploring the colour investigation corner.  The children have also taken their learning outdoors.  To learn the names of the shapes, they have used spray bottles to squirt water at the coloured shape mats.  They have also practiced scooping  and pouring the coloured water beads to fill different sized containers.  The water beads changed size depending on the weather which was an excellent way for the children to learn the difference between big and small.
